Dhalinybuy
Dhalinybuy is a big and well-established homeland on fertile soil on the Cato River, flowing into Arnhem Bay. The community is strong and proud of its Wangurri heritage. Dhalinybuy is 86km from Nhulunbuy by road, or just over an hour's drive. Leaving Nhulunbuy, drive along the Central Arnhem Rd for about 64km. The Dhalinybuy turnoff is after the Matamata turnoff, with both roads marked with small blue signs.
Liya Wanhurr Camping and Tours offers day tours in Dhalinybuy homeland, and as part of these tours guests are welcomed by residents of the homeland and have the opportunity to be immersed in Yolŋu life, culture and history.
Liya Wanhurr Aboriginal Corporation also operates the Cato River Recreational Area which is close to Dhalinybuy and is open for fishing and camping. To gain access a permit must be obtained from the Northern Land Council. Please note this permit does not give permission to enter Dhalinybuy Homeland, but only the recreational area.
Bindawuy Waterfall is also nearby and is a popular place to relax and unwind.
