Places to go

From the modern town of Nhulunbuy to more than 50 Aboriginal communities and homelands, East Arnhem Land is home to a thriving and diverse community that welcomes visitors.

Many communities and homelands will invite you to immerse yourself in community or family life through a cultural tour, and even to stay overnight in their accommodation or campgrounds. Some communities are also home to art and cultural centres that showcase stunning handcrafted paintings, prints, weaving, carving, jewellery and more.

Communities and homelands will require a booking and a permit to enter, so please plan ahead and be respectful by making sure you have all arrangements in place.
